What is it?

IC: Igen Weyrhold is a remote, introverted, occasionally cruel lover to those hardy enough to brave her; left nearly desolate when luxury stripped Weyrs of dragons, only recently have those proud and self-sufficient few returned to once more take up the settled nomad's veil. Dragons there are, if scarce in breeding and smaller in stature than their ancestors once were. The black gold of the sands, oil, breathes a marks-laden scent across the Weyrhold bowl, if not one familiar in everyday usage; tradition mingles practicality with contempt for such newer things, leaving the Folk dependent on the power winds and water can give them for life, even while they exploit the oil for rare luxury. Isolated as they are, by choice, by necessity, by the requirements of nature, they are by habit a taciturn if not completely unfriendly people. Hospitality is a given: respect and acceptance are not. Hard-won, they are equally hard-lost, and it is a rare gift an Igenite has given if one receives that quiet trust.

OOC: Igen was planned to be a small, rp-intensive weyrhold where a character's worth is in no way determined by the acquisition of a dragon, in RP or out. We welcome crafters or characters with a crafting background, players with Pern experience, and even those without so long as their characters are formed with a good sense of history and personality and especially a few fun flaws. RP-With-Panache is our bylaw. If you're interested, please join us on the game! We'd love to have you, and you can contact (pester) any of the following: Rislyn, B'kje, K'vrai, Keely, Polera... Lots of options. :)
